Footwear

Hi,

I need some advice about footwear please.

At home, I have now badly hurt my right foot by smashing into furniture three times in the last few months, twice when not wearing slippers and once wearing them.

Each time the consequent swelling, bruising and pain takes a while to go away, with my little toe being the worst affected. As we all know, healing takes longer for diabetics than for non-diabetics.

Does anyone know of any kind of footwear that is comfortable but will protect my toes from such incidents? I don't want to have to wear steel toe-capped boots around the house.

Thanks,

J.

PS - yes, I know it's best to avoid the furniture in the first place but accidents do happen.

I don't wear anything on my feet in the house generally but have a pair of slip on crocs for when I am doing stuff like cleaning or climbing ladders to clean my windows etc - they are very comfortable and don't make your feet sweat - protect your toes too

Same here, lived in crocs even before the diabetes, wear the chunky ones in winter & the flip flops in summer

I have sympathy I am recovering from the bedroom door leaping out and kicking my toe
