I'm 7 weeks into lcfh. I'm loving how it makes me feel. But so much more important is watching my bg readings come down.
Only 7 weeks ago I was measuring in the teens and stupidly blaming a course of steriods to help a relapse with my MS ( multiple sclerosis). Yes they didn't help but it was down to the carbs I was eating...I finally stopped feeling sorry for myself and resolved to get a grip.
I've had enormous support and help on the forum from such kind people that made me even more determined.
My readings now average 5.5 in the day ..naturally go low in the late afternoon....all good. But.....
My morning fasting is averaging 11.5. Sometimes lower. But nothing I've tried works.. I can go to bed on a 5.6...and wake up 9. Or 10.... not good
Today I've started on forgazia. So I thought it may do some good to chart on here how I get on. Its still a new med simply put the kidneys excrete excess glucose through your urine to a degree.. more and more people are being prescribed this drug so maybe others could chart their progress?
So far I have a bit of a dry mouth but apart from needing to wee more I feel good.
My gp who luckily supports lchf. Mainly because he uses it because of type 2 himself. (I'm lucky as no long explanations and he is happy for me to follow it)
So here goes
my fasting was 10.1
I'm already at 7.1 now..breakfast dropped from pre reading
Id be delighted to hear from others trying this med

Update...from 7.1 post breakfast I'm down to 5.8.... pretty much in line with daytime readings...I'm drinking a lot of water. Seem to have a bit of increased energy.
I was told that you can lose weight on this so I'm hopeful...although following lchf ( well increased fats and moderate protein) I've lost just over a stone. With a stone to go.
I've also reducedy portion size with no hunger at all...I'm convinced I wasn't drinking enough water also...
So all good up to now

I started forxiga/dapagliflozin last week. It's going great things for my blood sugar levels. My morning levels are much lower, and my general readings are down from the teens to the 7's and 8's.
The worst side effect has been headaches, which I think have been caused by dehydration. I really think that you have to drink an awful lot more than normal... the more I drink, the better I feel.

Yes I'm finding that too drinking lots and a bit of a dry mouth. Low carbing as well...I'm down 2 points on my fasting from 10 average. Getting good readings in the day.. good luck :)

I'm hoping the doctor puts me on it next week, was on gliclizide, but put on a stone in 3 months! DN took me off and upped my metformin, but levels are still in the 10's on a reduced carb diet.

I tried every oral drug known to man but nothing worked so had to go onto basal/bolus. Have heard good things about Forxiga, hope it works for you.

I'm one happy bunny today. Fasting of 7.2 after going to bed at 5.8
This seems to be working so well already for me
My daytime readings were good it was just the liver dump that for me started at 3 am and just got higher..but its the lchf that has brought me down from the high teens readings of six weeks ago

Excellent news! What dose are you on?
I'm only on the 5mg dose, but seeing good results. My fasting was 8.6 this morning. So I'm hoping that on Tuesday when I see the Nurse and get tweaked up to 10mg I will see a bigger change.
