Hi everyone I have had diabetes for 16 years at first in childhood diabetes everything was great well controlled and into adult diabetes until my grandmother passed away then my diabetes went out of control I was forgetingvto test my sugar and not eating the proper foods I started to get this under control at the end of 2019 and then 2020 hit covid got me worried and my mum passed away of cancer less than a week after being diagnosed at around march and 6 to 8 weeks later my grandfather passed away in a care home due to what was put down to covid and after losing everyone who meant anything to me and being left alone my diabetes has went out of control I have been trying to get into a routine of testing and eating good foods again getting there sort of with the food but remembering test sugar levels is something different I forget them no matter how hard I try

So does anyone have any recommendations on android apps to remind me to test my sugar

I'm so sorry you've lost all those special people in your life, that must be so hard to cope with. Sending you hugs and welcome to the forum.

Jay-dee, I really feel for you. I think that happens a lot with bereavements and other causes of grief and stress, that your own diet and health can suffer (I know it did with me when I lost my parents) but props to you for recognising the need to get back on track and look after yourself. I agree with xfieldok that using your phone to set an alarm is probably the easiest solution. That's what I do to test my BG post-meals otherwise I wander off and forget.
