So i forgot my levemir for the first time in a year of having diabetes type one :banghead: and this has caused my blood sugars to be high (around 11mmol) all day, whilst i have drunk plenty during the day and at one point did do a small correction it seemed to have little effect :(

But this afternoon, about seven o'clock, i started to suffer really bad diarrhea. And i was wondering if having high blood sugars & missing my morning levemir could have caused this? I didn't correct when i realised as it was already a good few hours after i should have taken it and was worried about overdosing and causing a hypo.... should i have corrected when i realised and lessened my dose?

i would of taken it as soon as i realised i had forgotten as long as it was within 2-3 hours. would then of had a reasonable carby snack with no quick acting to componsate for the basal overlap the next day. eg if i usually took basal at 7pm, as long as i had it the same evening 2-3 hours later before bed would of had it. the next evening to get things back on track take it at usual time of 7pm but would of overlapped by however later you took it the previous evening. could correct the 2-3 overlap with a snack or, reduced evening bolus with evening meal in anticipation. if however it had been forgotton until the next day would of continually corrected with bolus through the day up till 7pm or usual time of basal.
