Until 3 weeks ago I was on 2 x 5 mg Glipizide plus 2 x 500mg Metformin and 1 x 100mg Sitagliptin a day. The diabetic specialist nurse at the surgery was not happy that, on occasion, my blood sugars according to my test meter were under 5 and therefore in danger of a hypo. She changed my medication, taking me off the glipizide and substituting it for Forxiga 10mg. Since then whenever I test the readings have also been climbing. Never below 10 in the morning and 9 during the day. This morning was 14.8. I have mentioned it to the nurse. However, she said that she and the doctor will not consider taking me off the Forxiga and back onto glipizide (maybe a reduced dose) until I have been on it for three months so they can get a new HBA1C test. Meanwhile with the increased readings I am concerned about future damage to the rest of my body. Any ideas?
