Just started this Forxiga 10 mg one a day. Recently diagnosed with Kidney disease. Have to reduce Insulin amount and only one Metformin a day instead of two. Pretty scared as this Tablet is very new on the market. Am I being used as a Guinea pig or is this a miracle way to manage Diabetes? Anyone using this tablet? Would like some reassurance.

I have used it for 3 years with no trouble
 
Forxiga isn’t new on the market, I’ve been on it for years and years (can’t remember exactly but probably since about 2014). It works by lowering the renal threshold for excreting glucose, from (around) 10mmol to around 7mmol. So if your blood glucose is over 7mmol you pee out glucose in your urine. That can have the side effect of giving you thrush. Since lowering my sugars with a low carb diet I haven’t had any side effects or glucose in my urine

I started Forxiga about four years ago. I had a few problems to start with, but since then no side effects and it's a big help. I notice how important is it, when I occasionally have to work longer than I expected and so don't get to take it and my blood sugar is correspondingly higher. I also inject liraglutide and the combination has immensely improved my type 2 diabetes - I hardly need any fasting acting insulin anymore.
