Four mile hike

I went on a four mile hike yesterday along a coastal path which was incredibly hard as it was up and down, very steep etc but enjoyable.
My blood sugars were fine all day and then last night I had two hypos - anyone know why this was? I know it's cause I did exercise but all day they were fine then suddenly boom. Ha. I had breakfast and dinner, even had a bit of birthday cake.
Thank you.

I think you've really answered your own question. The impact of exercise on insulin requirements can last for 24-48hrs after doing exercise. It's not really unusual to find blood sugar is fine during the exercise, but drops low after. You might have needed to consider reducing your post exercise bolus for the dinner & birthday cake.

Same thing happens to me after a long morning walk. My blood sugar levels are great afterwards for the rest of the day, then during the night I drop low.
