Frankfurters or Bratwurst and Mulled Wine

Hi everyone

I am gradually getting my head together and getting used to what I can and can't eat but wondered if anyone could tell me if Frankfurters or Bratwurst are relatively okay for a T2? The reason I'm asking is that we are off to Cologne Christmas Markets soon and wondered if it would be okay to eat either of these whilst there and perhaps have a sip (or two) of the mulled wine .

Can I just also say that Petra's soup recipies have been an absolute godsend this last couple of days, especially in this cold weather :D Have also tried the no pasta lasagne recipie this weekend made with courgettes and aubergine and it was fab :D (can't remember who's recipie this is - sorry :( )

TIA

A SMALL amount of ANYTHING is ok. Mulled wine will contain sugar, but how about looking up some figures for Frankfurters and Bratwurst? I think they are lower in carbs than English sausages. Miss out on the buns? Black bread is lower in car than white.
Personally, I would try everything, but keep the portion TINY, unless it's obviously ok, like meat.

Have a lovely time!

the sausages are low in carbs (about 2g a portion) but very high in fat - bratwurst worse than a frankfurter - 1 bratwurst has 50% of your daily fat allowance!.

Mulled wine - red wine has 0.5g carbs per 31/2 oz glass but mulled wine has lots of sugar and is about 30g of carb for the same size glass.

Like Hana says a little bit of everything is ok but you have to use restraint - me personally I would give the mulled wine a miss as imho its empty carbs - why not stick to tea or coffee or even some soup to warm you up and just partake of red wine in the raw- then you can have a couple of glasses as apposed to a couple of sips

Thanks Hana and Lovinglife

I'd probably be better to go with hog roast then if they have it, without the bun :) and stick to a frankfurter only if I have to. Will give the mulled wine a miss in favour of the red (not too hard a choice :D )
