Not sure if this is helpful but as a really new newbie :) I came across this phone app I always use now.

It scans the bar code and tells you the sugar, fat contents etc and in some cases suggests a swap.

I like its WHOA option when a food item is way over healthy limits.

I use it all the time shopping now and hope it’s if some help to others.

I still am trying to work out a decent diet between the 2 diets I have to follow, this seems to bring a little light relief as well as valuable information also.

Kind regards, john

I’ve downloaded the app as I’m curious but a bit worried that it says it flags up saturated fat content in food as well as sugars. You have to remember saturated fat is not the enemy!

Sadly, it still uses the "Traffic light system" so it only indicates high sugar not high carbs. :(

Thank you. I’m a little problematic as my “main diet” is for my Crohn’s disease.

I was curious as a complete novice as it showed high sugar, fat that also I have to careful of.

Apologies if if I have misunderstood, just trying to find out quickly if an item helps me or otherwise.

Always willing to learn, my Crohns & diabetes teams doing heroically so far :)

Kind regards, john
