Same here.Having zero issues. Unless of course I abandon my phone elsewhere, which when busy is a given. Just scan and all ok.
I think that's wise. I've always just used the reader and everything has worked perfectly well. The odd sensor has been replaced by Abbott but I'm all for keeping things simple & as reliable as possible. Interestingly the Reader Meter alarm screams if it's apart or away from the sensor on your arm for too long !Don’t update your iPhone to iOS 17 switch off auto system updates. iOS 17 is not fully compatible wait until Abbott say all is ok. If you have updated you will need a Freestyle reader. Abbott supplied one free to me with a new sensor as the reader will not work if you have scanned the sensor with your phone app first.
I have today had to contact Abbott about a new sensor not staying connected to my phone…..
Abbott have always replaced swiftly and without question so no issues there.
However as this is at least the fourth one AND they have ALL failed when on my LEFT arm I am curious as to whether others have seen this trend? However I can ALWAYS take a manual reading and I do.
Checked all the usual things ( again!) and that is the ONLY issue I can see …. Phone is actually CLOSER to the sensor when it’s in my left arm than when on the right so I don’t see an issue there!
Whilst it is no a huge problem for me I feel if it is happening to others then clearly something is amiss and whilst the company is replacing free of charge somewhere down the line this will be increasing the costs for both the NHS and private purchasers to cover the company expenses….
So please let me know or just post here and I will keep my eye on this thread……
I hate waste ….. that is my motivating fact
Sensor failure seems to be par for the course with Libre. My original Libre was much more reliable - the failure rate seems to have increased with Libre 2. I seem to be averaging about 3-5 sensor failures per year now. Abbott are very good about replacing them as I don't see why my surgery should foot the bill but it's still frustrating. Occasionally I've had an use with the sensor communicating with the app (can't say it's specific to one arm) but mostly it's just complete sensor failure. I'd be interested to know if the alternative to the Libre is more reliable. Does anyone have any advice on that?I have today had to contact Abbott about a new sensor not staying connected to my phone…..

That is true. My husband had to have ambulance out because of this very problem. Sensor wasn't giving correct reading but not enough to think any different. But was low enough that I couldn't rouse him. It was horrendous couple of hrs. Daughter got hold of Abbots and said about the faulty sensor and what had happened they weren't really bothered just said sorry about it.Depends whether you can go hypo (especially overnight) due to medication, for a T1 if the Bluetooth fails the sensor is no longer particularly useful unless you happen to have a miaomiao or similar to stick onto it.
Whenever I contact Abbot to have a sensor replaced they always ask whether any medical intervention was required. In my case the answer has always been no (long may it last), but I assume they ought to do something that isn't fobbing you (or your daughter) off, if intervention was needed. At the very least replacing the sensor. That is true. My husband had to have ambulance out because of this very problem. Sensor wasn't giving correct reading but not enough to think any different.
