Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
I know that there are posters her from mainland Europe.

As I will by cycling through the Netherlands to Germany I thought that I would check to see if the Freestyle Libre is available to buy and cheaper there.

An initial email enquiry to a German pharmacy in Wesel had the response that pharmacies don't sell the Libre. You have to order from the web site.

Can anyone, please, advise about availability over the counter in mainland Europe?

In the Netherlands you need to set up an online account with Abbott and an address where they can deliver. You can't buy anywhere else here. The cost is 60 euro's a piece.
Have a wonderful holiday!

Hi @LittleGreyCat,

In Germany, you can order the Abbott Freestyle Libre from the website. You don't need a prescription and it's the Libre 2. Just as in the Netherlands, it's about 60 Euros.

Hope you have a fun trip to the Netherlands and to Germany.

I’ve read that the libre sensor can only be purchased through Abbott in Germany. But libre 2 is available there :)

Thanks everyone.
Asda pharmacy it is, then.
Wonder why the UK is the only place you can buy it over the counter?
Just as well, though, as Abbott aren't taking on any new customers via their web site.
