Freestyle libre 2 - scanning problems

I don’t often post here but do regularly find answers to most questions/problems, except this one.

I’ve been using the Freestyle Libre 2 for about a year now. Over the past few months I’ve found myself having to scan the sensor with my phone (iPhone 11) between 2 and 4 times to get a reading.

- Sometimes the app will make a noise and vibrate - still no reading displayed.
- Sometimes the app will not do anything for several minutes and I’ll stand there waving my phone around like a crazy person.
- Sometimes the app not generate any noise or vibration but a result will display without me being made aware.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

I’ve spoken to Abbott and was given the classic uninstall and reinstall (turn it off and on again) line. Except every time the app is uninstalled, I seem to loose my entire history of results. I did this once and it didn’t make any difference and am reluctant to do it again as the historic data is so useful.

If you’re looking for better accuracy, the DexcomOne will give you that on prescription. However (and this is a big “however”), the signal is constantly disconnecting, it takes 30 mins to reconnect, it only last 10 day (vs 14), it’s a much bigger device and it doesn’t have critical alerts.

I got so fed with scanning my Libre multiple times that I tried the Dexcom. But due to the above, I moved back to the Libre again and it’s irritating scanning problems.

It seems there is no problem free solution :-(
