Freestyle libre 2 - scanning problems

Hi all,

I don’t often post here but do regularly find answers to most questions/problems, except this one.

I’ve been using the Freestyle Libre 2 for about a year now. Over the past few months I’ve found myself having to scan the sensor with my phone (iPhone 11) between 2 and 4 times to get a reading.

- Sometimes the app will make a noise and vibrate - still no reading displayed.
- Sometimes the app will not do anything for several minutes and I’ll stand there waving my phone around like a crazy person.
- Sometimes the app not generate any noise or vibration but a result will display without me being made aware.
I’m going
Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

I’ve spoken to Abbott and was given the classic uninstall and reinstall (turn it off and on again) line. Except every time the app is uninstalled, I seem to loose my entire history of results. I did this once and it didn’t make any difference and am reluctant to do it again as the historic data is so useful.

Hi!

I have the same problems, it’s so annoying. Also spoken to Abbott and no solutions offered really.

In addition my last 4 sensors have been completely inaccurate (talking 3-5 mmols difference with finger prick), they basically told me I must have put it on wrong and they’ll send me new ones.

It’s so frustrating! I’m going to ask my diabetes team about alternatives again (not too hopeful), but was wondering if anybody knows if any of the other sensors are more accurate? (Sorry to hijack your thread with a different question!)

I am having the exact same issues with my Libre 2 sensors. I have the added issue that my latest sensor is reading low. I have gone from a daily average of 8.2 to 6.9 mmolL. The drop happened as soon as I replaced my sensor 4 days ago. My previous sensors correlated with my HbAc1 result.

If you’re looking for better accuracy, the DexcomOne will give you that on prescription. However (and this is a big “however”), the signal is constantly disconnecting, it takes 30 mins to reconnect, it only last 10 day (vs 14), it’s a much bigger device and it doesn’t have critical alerts.

I got so fed with scanning my Libre multiple times that I tried the Dexcom. But due to the above, I moved back to the Libre again and it’s irritating scanning problems.

It seems there is no problem free solution :-(

Such a shame isn’t it! It obviously still is so helpful, but I’m hoping to go onto a pump in the future and I worry about the accuracy of the sensors giving issues with that!
