I was recently given a freestyle libre 2. The first one fell off after less than 48 hours when I was away on holiday so there was a break before I could get a new prescription. Recently applied the new one which also fell off less than 48 hours after application.

I'm not aware of having knocked either of them, and the timescale has made me think. I can be allergic to the adhesive in plasters, and I'm wondering if the adhesive relevant. I didn't notice with the 1st one, but the 2nd one I could definitely feel soreness . Has anyone else had issues like this?

I have never had problems with sensors falling off. I have used Libre 2, then Libre 2 plus and more recently Dexcom ONE +. However I have seen people speak of using Skin Tac wipes, to prepare the skin prior to applying a sensor. It apparently protects the skin and improves adhesion. You might also consider an overpatch for more protection.
 
When applying, press firmly and hold for 15sec to allow the adhesive time to bond. Also hold hand up to head so the skin on the application site is stretched. Do not use any oil or oily product on application site, wash with Simple soap only, never moisturiser.
 
Hi I’ve not had a sensor fall off I usually wash the area where sensor is going on my arm and then buy these clear patches that go over sensor to protect it from being knocked off, they are waterproof and cost £[emoji6

The only time I've lost a Libre 2 sensor was when I was in a hottub. Previous visits were without issue but this one time I could feel iton my arm then saw it floating across the hottub. Now I wear a short length of elasticated bandage over my sensor and that is the only time I cover it, other than with regular clothing.
When applying a new sensor I was the area with soap and rinse it off and let it dry then wipe with an alcohol wipe and allow that to evaporate before applying a new snesor.
 
I have this problem unless I cover the sensor, even micropore tape helps (but it looks messy). However, I find the best and neatest solution is to use transparent wound film (such as Opsite, although there are cheaper non-branded versions), cut into a square.

I've only once had a sensor fall off. Last summer I had a sensor attached my upper arm and throughout the day repeatedly removed my backpack to access camera's and I believe the backpack strap knocked it off. Never expected that as they are the devil to remove. Ever since then I've taken more care and have never lost one since.
 
Same here I have never had a sensor fall off
. In fact I sometimes ask my wife to help remove one at the end of the fourteen days. I have been using The Freestyle Libre since first available here ie several years
 
Yep, same for me only ever had one drop of. They usually take some getting off when it's time to change
 
yes i have had the same problem droping off not sticking problem but my diabetic nurse has put me on the dexcom system sensor can go on belly as well as the arms, been on a couple of months only had one sensor fail (my fault)

Kovoq Freestyle Libre 2 Sensor Cover I use the above patches. The is also a plastic cover to protect the libre sensor
 
I have used Libre 2 and plus for a year now, without any problems. My nurse, when first showing me how to apply the sensor,suggested that many users find it more comfortable if its placed on the inside of the upper arm.
i have found this is a good place that dosn't get knocked and alternate each arm with each new sensor.
She also showed me how to press the new sensor hard into my arm for approx a minute, before pulling the applicator away, to make sure the glue is holding.
I additionally purchase covers to help keep the sensor in place. These I purchase from Diabetic Supplies.co.uk, who stock a wide range of colours and styles for all types of sensors at reasonable prices.

The new sensors the 2 plus last 15 day I wear them for 16 days as I fit them at least 24 hrs in advance, for those who struggle with sensors falling off you can buy an elasticated strap to wear over the sensor.
I normally fit the new sensor then put on the strap when the old sensors finishes I remove it straight away then remove the strap, you can also buy a plaster that fits over the sensor I don't like them tbh I prefer the strap.
I tend to remove my old sensors in the shower and usually get it wet and then put my thumb nail under the sensor and pull it off.
