There’s this thing that has been bothering me for a long time which is the constant malfunction of the Libre, has anyone experienced this?
When it works it is great and is usually within +/- 0.5 mmol/L of the BG on my meter but often times it doesn’t work.
I’d say so far only 2 out of 6 sensors have been accurate enough ( I don’t mind an error up to 1mmol/L but it is way larger than this) and almost always when there are 4-5 days till it expires it totally goes haywire showing me have hypos for hours and hours and even days. I’ve seen the difference be as large as -4 mmol/L
Everyone else seems to be okay with it but I don’t know if it’s my body rejecting it or what. I know most people report a minor inaccuracy but this isn’t minor. I’m inserting it correctly and seem to be fine in the first 6-7 days but after that it slowly goes less accurate until the last 4-5 days when it goes bonkers.
Because of this everyday I contemplate why I’m self-funding these when most of the time they fail.
Any tips on how to prolong its life? I don’t know what’s wrong. I see on YouTube that people put it in alternative places and still their sensor is fine but I put it exactly where the company says it to and yet it fails.
Is the Dexcom any better? The sensors are changed every 10 days I believe so less likely to go bonkers. I know it’s more expensive but what can I do— don’t want to ruin my fingers since as a diabetic our bodies heal slower than normal people anyways
