Robert, I'm very jealous of your great control. Could you give us a day in the life of your diabetes control? i.e. diet, exercise, medication and the like. Whatever you are doing I want to steal it!

I have to state that this is what works for me personally so YMMV.

I'm not sure if the flat graph is attributable to Tresiba which I find to be extremely constant (when the dose is correct).

So, overnight flat line is easy if I start at a good level before bed.

I have a waking liver dump so have to take 2-3u NovoRapid for that when I wake and bolus for breakfast (1u) for Fage yoghurt and flaxseed (4g carb).

Lunch was bacon, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes - (1g carb), no bolus although I took 2u late afternoon to account for the protein and had coffee and cream to keep calories up.

Supper was Lamb, broccoli and sprouts. I took 4u for that. Tresiba at 9pm 10u. Then 4 slices of Leerdammer before bed as a snack.

I try and walk most days for 30 minutes (easy in London) and a few days a week I do circuit training for about 1 hr at home. If I don't exercise for a few days then graph is less flat.
 
Do you use the standard Novorapid pen? I have found sometimes when I try to get 1 unit it doesn't have an impact even though it should. But 2 always is OK. Just wondered if delivering such a small amount could be the issue.

How long have you been diabetic, how long is your needle and how well do you rotate injection sites? You could be injecting into fatty deposits which can cause the problem. I've found 1u generally works.

Do you do those together? (I haven't done DAFNE or Bdec yet and am a novice in quick-acting insulinio.)

Yes, together. I would agree that a 1u dose is not too accurate if not left under skin long enough. Luckily we had U20 and U40 insulin and syringes with 5/8 inch needles when I was first diagnosed, so taking small amounts was easy (apart from the maths )

I haven't done DAFNE either
 
I remember having to convert u100 to u40 when I was on a school trip to Italy in 1990. They hadn't moved to u100 and my insulin got smashed when a bag got crushed. That was lots of fun...

One year since being diagnosed. I generally inject the 1 unit in my waist. As this might be once a day if that I don't rotate. I lost quite a lot of weight when diagnosed so not too much fat there. I inject the daily lantus in my thigh so it is different to that. I sometimes find I need to do a couple of air shots to get the insulin coming out so wondered if trying to get one out of the pen may be the issue. Next time I will try another site which has less fat and see what happens.
 
I had a hypo at 2.9, Libre showed a stable 4.4. And I have to say this is a pretty good sensor so far, so Libre seems no good for hypos

The guy at Abbott was keen to know what the direction arrows were doing. Mine was flat and i was definitely not plummeting with insulin on board so it couldn't be said that it was the delay of IF.
 
I didn't think I felt like 5.9. This is why.



Will see what the 15 min later scan says... Looks like the rate of increase has accelerated and caught out the libre.
 
Without searching through the whole thread, does anyone have a date when the Libre will be available to purchase again?
 
Here's the 20 minute later follow up.



The rate of increase seems to be roughly similar. The 20 min delayed reading on the scanner is still some 1.5 mmol/l (19%) out though and showing a rate of change that doesn't reflect the flat arrow... Another call to Abbott on the way.

Due to current high demand for our product, we can only take orders from existing customers at the present time. If you are new to FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System, unfortunately you will be unable to place an order until early 2015.

Edit: you can sign up to be alerted when they are taking new customers again
 


So no definite date as yet, that's a shame

My Dexcom is similar in that the arrows sometimes don't make sense. There might be a horizontal arrow when the graph clearly indicates a rising trend.
