I'm 76Kg with a BMI of 24 and take 18 units Tresiba.
What amazes me with Tresiba is how flat it is even if you over or under dose - at least that's what I have found. I couldn't take it one night as I was away from home and had forgotten the pen - I expected my sugars to go high overnight and the next day but no, they remained flat. Another time, in a rush, I bolused with 6 units of Tresiba just after taking my daily basal dose of Tresiba - DOH! - I was expecting lows throughout the night and the next day but no, flat as a pancake.
 
Abbott being too tight to give us a case with this, I need something nice that will hang the libre around my neck in order to easily grab it and satisfy my growing need to scan every second or so. Ideally the screen and button should be on view. Any ideas?

I am immersed in a world of trends and graphs right now!

I just made a decision based on the Libre! My BG was way too high (due to a rather unwise experiment with a sandwich for lunch - my curiosity got the better of my low-carb common sense LOL). Anyway, the Libre showed my BG although high was falling, so I have postponed the correction dose I would otherwise have taken. Will check again in an hour and see if that was the right decision.

I agree that it is really good to be able to track overnight blood glucose levels and look at trends. I have examined my sensor today (which has been in place for 3 full days) and the sticky part is starting to lift slightly on one side. Is anyone else finding this? Or have any good advice on making the sensor stay in place for the full 14 days?

I've had mine on for 3 days also, but no sign of lifting edges. I have some Opsite tape on order just in case.
 
Mine arrived yesterday and right away it was reading between 3&6mmol high

24 hours later it's still the same 3 to 5 high in comparison to the onboard glucose meter and my neo meter

And about 8 times tried to scan and get the error no reading available try again in 10 minutes

Things are looking up. After 36 hours of my readings been off I rang Abbott and they said they would send a new sensor. Last night, 48 hours after starting the readings between the Libre and my Mobile are converging. Even to a point that could be usable. If this was to happen with each sensor it would push up the cost of the usable days.

One thing I am finding really interesting is the impact of different carbs on my levels. Some give a spike that goes quickly, others not as much of a spike but last longer. Whether the readings are spot on or not I think I am going to turn myself in to a guinea pig and make the most of this. I have only had diabetes for just under a year so this is great.

I tried downloading the data this morning and at first thought some was missing. I then realised it was the alignment of the data to the column heading as I had opened it in a text file. Imported to excel and all good. With this and all the info on food, exercise, weight, injections etc. I can download from the tracking app. I use the insight the additional reading data gives is so good.

Conclusion, whether the next sensors are just out or not I can always put an adjustment in Excel based on diferences between the Mobile and Libre to get it where it needs to be. Might mean I don't use the Libre as my main one but it I am going to make sure this investment makes a positive difference to managing my diabetes.

Good luck to everyone. And I agree, if someone could make an addition to the tracking app I have that use NFC so it could read the sensor that would be perfect. One less thing to carry around. At the moment I have my mobile, work mobile, Accu-Check Mobile and the Libre. Starting to feel a little weighed down

What I envisage happening is gps buying a couple of readers and then lending them out with sensors when they have a patient who they need a short period of understanding, much like they do worn the continuous blood pressure machines. I'd imagine a food diary quill be required and they'll do some conclusion starting from that. It's a bit of a way off for now though...

my latest scan and bg test

Early days but my third sensor is scanning at about 2.0 mmol/L lower than a BG reading taken with the Libre which in turn is reading about 0.5 mmol/L lower than my Contour Next USB.

The trend graph is absolutely brilliant - imaging suffering the number of finger pricks you'd need to get the curve below.



The 5.2 peak was shown as 8.2 on my Contour.

Now, my current problem. I prefer my sugars to hover around the 4.4 mmol/L mark pre meal as registered by my Contour - the same BG reading from the Libre is about 3.8 mmol/L which I'm fine with but the scan reading will flat line at LO as the scan will not register mmol/L below 2.2 mmol/L.

So - unless the scans get considerably closer to BG readings I would have to allow higher pre meal glucose levels if I want to track trends - this I will not do.
More problematic is that once the scan is at 2.2 mmol/L or LO I have no idea if my glucose level is remaing level or dropping.

If the scans were consistently higher than BG readings I could just mentally adjust the scan to give the equivalent BG reading but I can't when it's 2mmol/L or more lower

I had problems with a dead arm too, and a few pins and needles down my arm!

It was worth putting up with though for the info it gave me.

I've on a Medtronic CGMS at the moment and the cost is bankrupting me, I'll live with the numbness for half of the cost

Hi all. quick update.
Went to London to see the poppies today (amazing btw).
My Libre is more accurate today but still a little random. However, it was GREAT to be able to quickly scan on the tube and in crowds. I'm happy using it as a guide so I really hope the accuracy improves. If this really starts working properly it could be life changing!
