I've recently switched over to the Libre. I've learned that for hypos and exercise, it's best to use blood measurements. Not wanting to use two meters, I changed my prescription to Optium test strips, which can be used in the Libre.

The problem is, they're individually wrapped - which is a right pain. Especially when I want to use them for hypos and exercise! Does anyone use Optium strips, are they ever packaged in a pot?

Never seen them in a pot. I like that they are freshly sealed in the foil wrapper. Same for their ketone strips.

Also, less risk of dropping the whole pot of strips on the floor during a hypo ;) I find them quite easy to open when you tear at the triangular notch. You can also insert the strip when it's half in the wrapper, thus not contaminating the testing end.

Horses for courses, I suppose. I find it more fiddly, particularly trying to test 1 handed whilst exercising. Also additional waste. I figured that unwrapped, they fit into the Freestyle Freedom Lite pots from my old machine, so I'll just do that.

I use these and find them much better than the old Bayer pots. It was easier to use during a hypo, and as @robert72 said, you won't risk dropping them all.
I also agree about opening using the triangular bit!

Does your pot fit in a case along with the meter?
