Hi there

I am new to this site but wanted to ask a question regarding the freestyle libre sensor.

I have been using the sensors for the last year or so and only experienced very few issues.
However when I changed my sensor today the needle remained in my arm when I removed the applicator.
This meant I had to physically pull the needle out as it had come detached from the applicator.
I wondered if this had happened to anyone else? As I am worried my sensor won’t work correctly now.
I have reported this to Abbott’s and they are sending me a replacement.
It has also kind of put me off the product as if I hadn’t of realised I imagine it would have really hurt if I laid down on it.
Anyone else experience this? Could it be the way I inserted it?

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

It hasn't happened to me, to date. But there have been reports of similar.
I'll tag in @urbanracer . i know it's happened to him..

That sounds painful... how was the surrounding skin condition? Was it sore? what I notice is with libre censor alone I never had issues but with Miao Miao added on top I feel it adds burden on my skin... and strangely it was itchy and when I removed it there was a bit of infection on the skin surface with blood ... I hope it’s one off thing.

Hi, the sensor and skin around feels completely normal, no issues. It was sore to pull the needle out but after that no problems. Thank you me too!
