Type 1 Freestyle Libre Test Strips

First day on Freestyle Libre. Comparing the results to my current BG tester are quite alarming. Freestyle 5.6 v BGStar 10.7.
3.4 v 6.7.

Is this normal? Should I get the freestyle test strips for a more acurate comparison?

It's fairly normal to have differing results in the first 24-48 hrs - that's why some people apply a sensor and leave it un-activated for that time, I believe this period is caused by the healing process around the filament.

If you want to change to using the Libre as a blood tester then do so, saves carry around 2 devices - bear in mind all 3 will potentially have differing results anyway*. You'd need to request the Freestyle Optium testing strips.

*All Blood Glucose testing devices should be within ~15% of the actual BG (the Libre should also but as it doesn't measure BG it can have a time lag which for tries it to account for, but can also under and over estimate when actual BG is not near normal range or during rapid BG fluctuations.

freestyle libre is also 15mins behind, so say now your sugar meter says hypo go with that
