Hi everyone!

Im just wanting to hear the thoughts and feelings of those using or have used the Freestyle Libre before

I'm 21 and have had T1 for 9 years, Omnipod pumping for the past 6 months.

Hba1c has increased slightly over the past few months (adjusting to the pump I guess) and I'm having quite bad anxiety over hypos.

I'm just wondering if the freestyle Libre is something that would be worth me trying out.. I assume it would help my hypo worries as I would be able to see my bg heading down quicker.

I've just finished uni and am set to start a full time job next month... Which will ultimately require me driving 30 min to and from work every day and i haven't driven much before... So keeping level bloods whilst driving is a big worry for me too.

I appreciate any info and any points from experience anyone could tell me!

If you do a SEARCH, you will find many threads on this. The longest runs to about 200 pages. So if you have a rummage, you should find the info you are looking for.

However, if you read the Libre small print, it states that Libre readings are not considered acceptable for pre-driving checks, or for calculating insulin doses.

My experience of the Libre is that I love it, and it has improved my diabetic control and my confidence in that control. But I am not an insulin user.

The Libre is really good. It has helped me pick up some bad hypos before they happened and turn things around before I got low, but on the other hand it scares you sometimes if you see a straight down arrow, as it's hard to tell if you're just dropping a bit or you're going to have a hypo. Highly recommended!
