Hi everybody,

This is my first post in diabetes.co.uk. I have been using the freestyle libre for the last three months and it has changed the way I do a lots of stuff, in a positive note. So very happy with it until now.

Today, after inserting a new sensor the reader did not detected it! It is true that the old sensor did not replacing yet - still had two days on it tho. So the line of the story was this:
- I removed the old sensor
- I added the new senor (number 1)
- Reader did not detect new sensor
- Android phone did not detect new sensor
- I added a new sensor to my other arm (number 2)
- Reader did not detect new sensor (number 2)
-Android did not detect sensor number 2

Abbot phone number are not available on Sundays so I haven't had a change to ask them. And what was more surprising is that nobody has posted this problem before.

Has that happen to anybody? Any suggestions or tips?

I will call Abbot first thing in the morning and maybe post and update on the situation later on. For me today and for the next few days until a the sensors arrive, I am back to old school of blood test.

I've had similar - but my problem (twice so far) has been that although my reader recognised the new sensors, they actually failed to start. I'm due to phone them tomorrow too about my second failure. You can look at your reader's event log to see if there's an error code for your problem.

Be ready to tell Abbot your customer number, the serial number of your reader (on the back) and those of the two faulty sensors. which will be on the containers, and the error code if you find one. They will (hopefully) ask you to return the sensors - and will send replacements and a prepaid envelope for the returns.
