Fried breakfast not for me

Breakfast is a struggle for me because I am never hungry in the morning I didn't eat breakfast for years and years so now what to have can be difficult I could never face yogurt and berries in the morning so I usually end up with scrambled eggs or an omelette adding some cheese or ham.. Today I really fancied a change so I fried some mushrooms tomato, red pepper and two eggs using coconut oil and I had a slice of Bergen toast with Marmite. I did not enjoy it one bit and although I didn't use much oil it was still to greasy.Fried breakfast is definitely not for me the only bit I liked was the toast and Marmite so this one was definitely a one off

I would never advise anyone to skip breakfast but if you really do not enjoy it and are never hungry, why force yourself to eat ?

Well if you don't like fried breakfasts then don't have them

Some people have omelettes. I don't because I don't like eggs, so I don't have them. Just have what you do like. I sometimes skip breakfast if I'm not hungry, I don't find it a problem. Being obese the last thing I want to do is eat when I'm not hungry.

I just have a soft boiled egg for my breakfast. I save any fry ups for lunch times and use butter, not oil. Bacon, sausage and toms always grilled.

Eating when you are not hungry is bonkers, and probably one of the main reasons for the "obesity epidemic"

Unlike our ancestors, most people in the developed World can be certain of where their next meal will come from, so the imperative to eat at set times and when food is available has gone.

If I only ate when I was hungry I think I'd die of malnutrition because I don't seem to feel hungry lately so often have to eat just for health's sake. My breakfast usually turns into "brunch" because I can't face much first thing. I'm OK with yogurt and a bit of flaxmeal sprinkled on or berries. Now you know that a fried breakfast isn't for you just stick to the things you can eat. I sometimes slice the Lidls high protein rolls into 3 and and do cheese on toast.

I feel I need to say this and this is as good a place as any. When I, or anyone else gives advice on the forum, it's just that - advice. I nearly always say "This is what I do....." I have noticed a few times that people have complained about being misled. It's up to each and everyone of us to read the advice and then make up our own minds as to what advice is right for us. I have never once thought to say " Oh I can't have eggs and bacon for breakfast, I don't like eggs, that's bad advice for me, you shouldn't have said it"

So when someone says "I eat more fat now" or " I have/don't have breakfast" or "I only drink tea or water" it doesn't mean that's the right thing for everyone. It's just an idea for anyone else to take or leave as they please.

I take blood pressure tablets in the morning one reason I eat breakfast now because I don't like taking them on an empty stomach and now I also have it because my BG first thing is usually just over 7 and I don't want it to go any higher by dumping more glucose because my body thinks I am starving. If we miss breakfast doesn't that just put our BG up. I wish there was something I really fancied for breakfast...yes I could eat toast and Marmite but don't think that would be good every day. I never have that problem with other meals

I am all for people enjoying what they like to eat the problem I have with breakfast is just me I wish I could enjoy it. I wondered if there was anyone else like that and what they did.

There is nothing worse really than making yourself eat when you are not at all hungry. I don't have that problem the rest of the day I enjoy my meals then

I need to eat breakfast, if I don't I tend to overeat later in the day.
It's difficult finding something I feel like, and if I'm not careful I find it becomes later and later in the day when I get round to it.

Well I'm lucky in that just a cup of tea with milk is enough to tell my liver to stop trying to help out with extra energy. I appreciate not everyone is the same though. I think a lot of people find brekkie difficult if they don't like fry ups.

Just from my personal experience, my FBG either stays about the same til I eat or goes down a bit. I've never noticed it rise. Maybe you could do experimental tests to see what happens to yours between the first one of the day and before you eat and see what yours do?

I'd like to try a meal replacement shake at breakfast time but they either seem to be high carb (Slimfast etc.) or expensive so I don't know what I could have/afford?

Me too! I wish I wasn't a fussy eater because it makes life so much more difficult..... and I do wish I could eat eggs

A cup of tea, or a coffee with cream, could well be sufficient to stop a liver dump if you aren't hungry.

As @copey399 said, maybe you could try some experiments yourself? You might be surprised.
