Fried breakfast not for me

I take blood pressure tablets in the morning one reason I eat breakfast now because I don't like taking them on an empty stomach and now I also have it because my BG first thing is usually just over 7 and I don't want it to go any higher by dumping more glucose because my body thinks I am starving. If we miss breakfast doesn't that just put our BG up. I wish there was something I really fancied for breakfast...yes I could eat toast and Marmite but don't think that would be good every day. I never have that problem with other meals

Hi there Pink Orchid I also have quite high BG in the mornings (7's) but don't have any breakfast apart from a large cup of tea with soy milk (n fact usually 2) I find by lunchtime I'm down in the 6's... just my experience.

Hi pink I'm the same a lot of the time but you just have to have something. I have found a slice of applewood smoked cheese a slice of Wiltshire ham and a cuppa see me through till lunch.

When I scramble eggs, I use a knob of butter and a very small drop of veg oil, otherwise it doesn't taste nice. On the mornngs where I don't feel particularly feel hungry, I eat walnuts or almonds - along with black coffee and a game of Scrabble - The game you CAN play between meals, without ruining your appetite.... Or am I thinking of something else...? ;-)

I think we have to allow ourselves flexibility. I take a lot of meds first thing but don't worry about an empty stomach, I take them with my cuppa.
If I'm hungry an hour later, I'll eat, if not I won't. I'm not a fan of fried brekkie as a rule, I do like eggs though.
If you like Marmite, what about toasting half a Lidl roll? It toasts nicely and doesn't mean faffing around. Just don't feel you need to follow a regime - do what suits you.

I always have a grilled breakfast, I use a cast iron griddle, so any fat is left behind. Works for sausages, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes, I have a dry fried egg, so again no fat there.
