I have been type 2 for many years and my daughters friend who is 52 and her brother at 53 years old have both been diagnosed with type 2. My friend's hb1ac was 57 and the experience she has with the nurse was not good she was very judgemental despite being very overweight herself. She has a further appointment with diabetic nurse on 6th but would like some advice on best diet to adopt. She's hoping to control by diet and avoid medication. Thanks
I found low carb very effective, and easy to maintain once I thought about my eating triggers and favourite foods and found suitable substitutes. Then I focused on the food I can now eat that we've been told are bad for us.
Eating cream every day, full-fat yogurt, more cheese, oily dressings and butter is great, and my triglycerides (the only blood fat result that was too high before) went down.
