I was careless about my blood sugar for some time mainly brought on by monster-in-law.she watched me like an eagle and no matter what i ate or drank she had to have a derogatory comment about it [she lived with us]

I ended up eating after midnight secretly in my room which is very bad for diabetics

anyway she really annoyed me when she started on the children, the grandfather does not believe in holding children's hands on the road and almost got one of the twins killed [Christian was 4] and then the grandmother who slept in the same room as the other twin robbed him of his warm cover and gave him a summer blanket while he was very sick and maybe going to have his cold progress to flu or bronchitis. she did not care - she wanted two warm covers so he did not matter

she was also doing stupid stuff such as taking away the childs banana or raw cucumber because she believes only junk food is worthy of eating and that cooking from scratch is a bad thing to do

so we decided they had to go and we want nothing to do with them

it is much more important that i live longer and not leave my twins orphaned and while the grandparents were around my blood sugar was awful and i was fast heading for a diabetic coma

so i reduced my carbs to under 10 a day and my protein reduced to 80 grams a day and the result is blood sugar readings between 5.2 and 6.9

yippee no one to call me a pig because i had 3 eggs for breakfast [the mother in law could not understand that as she would have the toast and the milky coffee and the egg and then a cake as well]

i figure 1 egg is 70 calories and that is not enough so i aim for 300 calories for a meal so 3 eggs is perfect for me

Welcome to the forum @miss miss and well done on reducing your bs readings. Are you Type 1 or Type 2?
Eggs are usually ok for diabetics.

I am type 2

yes i know eggs are good for us diabetics but what non diabetics don't understand is that if we have eggs only, then obviously just one egg is not enough for a meal, we need several

so there is no point someone without diabetes being judgmental about us having 3 eggs while they scoff the toast and the milky coffee and the fruit and the jam and then a cake to follow that.

does anyone else find that sort of judgmental attitude?

Why Eggs only Eggs Bacon Sausage Cooked In Butter Maybe a Tomato or 2 or some mushrooms a Vegetable omelette or just some of the options.Scrambled

great suggestions but alas not for me

tomato? i have a nightshade allergy

i do have bacon sometimes and sometimes I have eggs

I have not found any sausage yet that does not affect my blood glucose badly

i do have mushrooms but i dont want to make an omelette as it is easier to clean up after simple eggs

anyhow between nightshade allergy and carbohydrate problem sometimes all i have is for example 3 eggs or maybe 3 chicken drumsticks

but i am finding that those who can eat anything and everything tend to be judgemental of the fact that even if i did add mushrooms or bacon, just one would not be enough to make 300 calories that a meal should be

i need to add here that according to my blood meter i cannot have more than 5 grams of carbohydrate a day and so i have one meal with carbs and that is 2 stalks of celery and 3 mushrooms and that is all per day
