Hi,

I bought mangoes and other fruit from our local market today, got home thinking how clever I was supporting local trade etc;
Oops when my dear wife took one look at them, I was brought down to earth with a bang.

So I now must believe that I was ripped of, However the biggest loser is the market for many reasons.

My question is why do market trader's take advantage of gullible men without thinking what we can do in return (trading standards)

Roy.

Roy, I find the travelling markets don't offer great value as the fruit & veg tends to spoil soon after purchasing, the best place to purchase fruit & veg is from Aldi or Lidl who are far cheaper than the likes of Tesco's and Asda.

Well, In the North West we are blessed with great markets, the traders tend to have been trading for years and the choices of fruit & veg can beat most other stockists (due to dealing with ethnic demands) due to the fact that Mr X has been trading for many years, he will be there again next market day and he needs his reputation so prides himself on his produce so low prices and great choices. :clap: :clap:

Very true, and applies in the North East too. I have a greengrocers I go to every week to top up my fruit and veg I get delivered on Tuesday's from an organic farm.
