Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, black / red currents are generally react well with diabetics. Once you are happy with your insulin resistance, you might consider the occasional half or third of an apple or similar, maybe before exercise (bananas, mangos, oranges and pineapple tend to create spikes). Macadamia, brazil, hazelnut, almond and cashew nuts are great snakes, but be careful of potion size and over eating. If I get caught out, I look for a supermarket to get some warm chicken, brie, pre-washed spinach (really filling), home brand low sugar yogurt (normally thinner and can be drunk). If you follow the low carb way of eating hunger between meals tends to fall away - I am honestly amazed at this, as I work out 2 or 3 times a day without snacking.
