Just curious what fruits I can eat that won't spike my sugars. Trying to eat healthier and get my sugars under better control but difficult when everything sends my sugars up!!

Also do satsumas cause it to spike a lot??

Thanks

Berries are lowish in carbs.

Hi Charisma. I also get very frustrated trying to eat fruit. As a rule of thumb I have found that any more than 100g of any fruit makes me spike, some fruits less than that, but it is a good starting place.

Well done for trying to change your diet, it is not easy, but you are doing the right thing ;)

I would have thought any fruit where you eat the skin (e.g. apples?) where the fibre content lowers the GI and therefore the rate of absorption of fructose.

Hello Charisma and welcome! :) Personally, the only fruits I can eat which don't spike my BG are berries. I'm very fond of clementines but haven't touched them this Christmas :( . I did read somewhere on the forum a while ago, that the best time to eat fruit is following a high protein meal because the protein slows down the absorption of the fructose thus preventing a spike. I haven't tried this tho' and I'm sorry but I can't find the relevant post. Good luck!
