Why is it that I can have have a bar of chocolate (25g carbs maybe?) now and again (with a meal and bloused for) and my bg levels stay absolutely fine ... But I can't have an actimel with a meal when it's only 3.3g carbs?

I'm feeling really annoyed about it. It's literally the ONLY thing that stops my gums from swelling/bleeding/soreness

But it's only 3.3g I've tried it 3 times now and I my bg levels go up by about 4 every time at 2 hours and even at 4 hours they only come down by 1 ...

Was 5.3 this morning. 2 hours after breakfast I was 9.8 and before lunch I was 7.9

Is there any way to resolve this?

Try and figure out how to bolus for it
 
It might be your personal weird phenomenon that you have to take an extra 1u for Actimel
 
I was using some zero-carb protein shakes around December and they made my BGs go up and stay up - I have no idea why and in the end gave it up and got my protein from scrambled eggs. Real food, not scientifically engineered stuff
 
I'm not T1 but someone somewhere once mentioned that they managed carbs better later in the day than first thing. Also, perhaps take the actively with something high in fat?

Thanks for the help on this. I now inject a full unit for an actimel each morning. Which means I inject for it as if it's 8g carbs instead of the 3.3 it is!! Oh well, massive improvement in my gums already so it's worth it
