See announcement below.

While this will still need FDA and UK approval, it shows that pump manufacturers are progressing to a 'hands-off' (ok semi hands off) artificial pancreas.

I imagine the other HCL Loop companies will be following suit soon with their own announcments.

That's a good step forward for all of us that want a less involved T1 existence.

This is good news. If one achieves it the rest will no doubt do their best not to be left behind.

Hi
We have an IT bod at work and his son is trialing a new cam where there is insulin and glycogen and it does everything itself.
I will click on the link later as the firewall on my work computer will not let me.lol
I am guessing the camaps thing is what he is trialing.
Whilst i am a dinosaur on MDI i find it all v exciting.

If you're happy - stick with what you like and is best for you. It's a lot of work to transfer from one regime to another - the stuff I do would be daunting to try and start for a new T1 - but the benefits I have are worth it for me.

It also helps I'm an IT hacker - I used to be diabetes risk and change averse, but after a few bad times knew I needed change, and its grown slowly from there over years.

In theory we should end up with a FCL being entirely hands off. Just connect it up and it works after sampling info for a week or so.

The next step in DIY loops is for AI to study the ISF and BG data etc and recommend improvements and settings, so its a step towards an intelligent system - I guess we are a few years off that, but its still a light at the end of a very dark T1 tunnel
