Pushing the low fat rubbish still....

I think Bridget would be shocked by the amount of steak I ate at lunch....

I feel like going on a rampage each and every time I see saturated fat vilified. I wouldn’t mind betting that only one in a million people who speak of it disparagingly even know what it means

And knows that almost all foods that contain fat have sat, mono and poly just in different ratios..
you see people say "cut out sat fat" without realising that's impossible...

I get what you are saying, it's just the same old broken record.... the moment someone starts to talk about fat, sat fat being bad is the moment I know there is nothing worth listening to coming from that person.

I think theyve all been brainwashed by years and years of repetition that low fat/low calories is the only way.... so, now that low carb is 'trendy' they are trying to adjust it to fit in with what they believe to be the truth.

What they believe to be the truth or what they want everyone else to believe to be the truth? ;)

I think that they, like most people, have been conditioned to believe that low cal/low fat works for weight loss. They've had about 50 years of repetition of that 'fact' so even though they've been told low carb works it doesn't sit well with their ingrained belief - hence the need to adjust the low carb diet message to take out all the bits they feel really uncomfortable with. Like saturated fat and full fat dairy.

I suppose it all depends on which group of “they” we are talking about. Journalists, you’re probably right.

My dentist is very keen to hear about my low carb way.... she hardly looks at my teeth and gums at the moment, they are in such good shape. In the waiting area there are a number of "sugar is bad" books, which is good.... and a low carb recipe book, had a look through.… there is low carb and then "low carb"... definitions and markets are all in publishing.

Coincidentally, I was listening to a podcast just yesterday, and this subject was touched upon by a guy who follows a carnivorous diet and has apparently not brushed his teeth in ten years, and has no dental issues at all. The question was asked “when did you last see an animal in the wild brushing its teeth?” :shifty:
