Hello
I have been on 300mg gapapentin for approx 8weeks suffer from nerve pain and Charcot foot, macular odema so non mobile in cast since April 2014.
Blood sugars have Δ same with colelsteral . have increased insulin could this be an issue with gapapentin.
Not looking forward to HbC1 results on Thursday. Last time seen 8 weeks ago told me to increase mobility, impossible as non weight baring !!
Any info will be good
Thanks in advance

I hope someone can help. This should put you back in recent posts.

I'm on gabapentin. Not keen on it as it leaves me feeling very "airy-fairy". But I haven't noticed it affecting my levels at all compared to my previous medication.

There's another thread recently asking the same thing.
A few of us are on it and I don't think any of us have any concerns about it raising blood sugars.
We're all different though and taking in different foods medicines etc.

I am on 3200mg of gabapentin a day. It doesn't touch my BGL at all.

Have read that many people taking Gabapentin put on weight, so wonder if that what's causing the problem alongside the fact you'll be exercising less. Certainly Amitryptiline also used for nerve pain causes weight increase as it slows the metabolism.

I've vascular problems so don't get about as much now and exercise tolerance is pretty limited. To counter putting on weight I've just had to eat less over the past 18 months, as extra weight would just make life even more difficult for me now.
