You do not mention which dietary changes you've used to try and alleviate your condition.
Please let us know then we won't be suggesting things you've already tried.

My off-the-top-of my-head response to your condition (digestion-based) would make me suspect wheat as a major culprit.

Hope to hear back with more detail.

Geoff

This might not be a help, but can't hurt.
Wolfgang Lutz an Austrian Doctor, believed that a low carb diet, especially one eliminating grains and grain products, would sort out almost all Gastro-intestinal problems.

Hi Geoff ,

Thanks for rapid reply.

My diet is not ideal however last year l eat very very little a day mainly soup and liquids yet still the same.

I have Just Right/ Cornflakes for breakfast , toast and cheese or sandwich for lunch and varied meals for tea however love pasta.

Snacking again on crisps after not eating for 8 months.

I am very sore.

Never saw that coming

I wasn't sure whether your GP had put you on any sort of food exclusion diets. Sounds like a no.
Since I'm not a T1 I hesitate to offer dietary advice.
However I do believe that wheat is tolerated by few people (whether they're aware of this or not), and a cause of major problems for some.
At Xmas I heard about a friend's daughter who'd been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Privately I googled about it, and found wheat implicated, and one doctor who cured all his patients on an all meat diet.

I've largely excluded wheat and grains from my diet, as I don't believe they're 'healthy' for me.
All I can suggest is that you do some research, and then when you've found conflicting information (there's ALWAYS conflicting information  ) make your own mind up about whether a change of diet might help you.

Not sure that helps any

I had been diagnosed with IBS-D. I tested negative for Coeliac but I cut wheat from my diet, don't have any problems unless I eat something accidentally with wheat in it.

Hi Megan,

I know that you have mentioned peppermint oil. Have you tried Colpermin and Hot Boiled water. I have IBS and it does help. Also Since earing seeded bread like Burgen I have had problems ( initially vey loose then very very constipated ) Sorry TMI!!! I have been told that when one increases fibre that our fluid intake needs to be increased aswell. ( I dont drink enough at the best of times.) I am not saying that what you have is IBS only the medics can decide, however it may be something to consider. It can make you feel really poorly!

Hope you get it sorted soon,

Lucy.
