Gastroparesis and Insulin management using Multiple Daily Injections and app?

I have gastroparesis, which means that when I eat, I don't know when that food will be digested. So, I cannot take the full carb-covering dose of insulin when I eat. Also, it seems that all the hybrid closed-loop insulin pumps expect a patient without gastroparesis. So, I expect that they would constantly alarm when the blood sugar doesn't respond the way it expects. And if I check blood sugar 2 or 3 hours after eating, I can see if my blood sugar went up from the meal, and dose... but then if it has been less than 6 hours since my last dose of insulin, I don't know how much insulin may still be waiting to be absorbed. Of course, all of this means that my average blood glucose is through the roof. I am not certain if this is just something that has to be accepted as a consequence of the Gastroparesis.

I am hoping one of the apps (like the one from Big Foot) will be able to help me manage my insulin dosing. But, I don't know if any work well for individuals with Gastroparesis.

Any suggestions?

XDrip+ allows you to set a fixed hourly carb absorption rate, so you could at least see a graphical indication of what's going on (in terms of projected blood glucose taking into account insulin, carbs and your sensitivity), though I make my recommendation hesitantly as the Android version (the Apple version is completely different, just the same name and I know nothing about it I'm afraid) only shows IoB and not CoB, it also doesn't support variable sensitivity/absorption across the day. The ability to see IoB may be useful enough to make something like this worth using. I would imagine most apps support this.

I don't want to hijack your thread, but I wonder if anyone knows of a review of different management apps somewhere, which you could have a look at and see what might suit your usecase.

I assume a hybrid closed loop pump must have a setting somewhere for carb absorption rate, though I don't use a pump so I'm afraid I don't know any of the specifics about them or their associated apps.
