The standard recommendation is many small meals that are low fibre, low fat and high calorie. IOW, sugary soft foods, exactly what is not recommended for your diabetes. For me its been more about finding what triggers the vomiting. For me, I can't eat any amount of spaghetti but pasta is OK. Surprisingly, mashed potatoes are a definite no, but a small portion of roast or chips can work. High fibre veg, broccoli, celery, kale, are also a no. There are other factors too, like never eat just before lying down. You can feel that food is hanging around, then when you move, it comes up. Never eat a really big meal.
I'm surprised they confirmed by blood test, as the standard confirming test is a series of X-rays documenting delayed gastric emptying. If Gastro send you for this test, remember to take some mouthwash, the flavour is truly repulsive.
