Gastroparesis???

If you've not been referred already I would ask your gp to send you over to the care of your local hospital to be seen by a gastroenterologist, sounds very uncomfortable Donna and not something you should be putting up with

I thought that I had some gastroparesis and had ultrasound scan. All was fine including other areas, bladder etc scanned at the same time. Mine comes and goes so I did a test by eating a small can of sweet corn and waited to see when it made a re-appearance. It was somewhat slower in that it,took 3 days - useful information for when I visited the GP. It added credence to my problem.



Late onset T1, several auto immune issues.
Humalogmix25 twice a day, Methotrexate 25mg once per week, FolicAcid 5mg once per week, prednisolone 5mg daily, Allopurinol 300mg, Calcichew-D3 800iu, Levothyroxine 50mcg, Atenolol 50mg, Losarten 100mg, Aspirin 75mg, Nicorandil 20mg, Nitrolingual GTN spray, Metformin 2000mg, Allimemazine 10mg, Lanzoprazole 30mg, Atorvastatin 20mg, Co Codamol 8/500mg, Depo Medrone (Methylprednisolone) or double Prednisolone for 7 days in case of RA flare.

Sounds very similar to the reaction I have when I accidentally eat gluten. Another person was recently posting about a similar problem and it turned out to be a hiatal hernia. So there could be several reasons for it and the best thing to do is have the problem investigated so that you get a proper diagnosis.

Would be surprised if you'd developed gastroparesis after just I year of being diagnosed as this is caused by autonomic nerve damage in diabetics and normally takes several years to develop.

I was diagnosed with intermittent gastroparesis due to autonomic nerve damage , was first suspected because of severe fluctuations happening with my blood sugar levels and a a few other reasons.

Best to have another word with your GP and see if he has any suggestions or tests he wants to do.

The problem is, Adele, that some people have had diabetes for many years, as in my case, undisgnosed and untreated having had it masked by other health problems and ongoing medication. As with many other aspects of diabetes it can often be down to an individual and their own progress through the mire.
