Gastroscopy and no insulin?

I was using an insulin pump when I had my endoscopy and carried on as normal. I find it strange that you were told no basal, but would check back with the hospital/diabetes team. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Please does anyone have any experience of this? My appt is 9am and been told no Novorapid which is obvious as I am fasting but also told no Lantus??

At what time do you usually take your Lantus?

I'd contact your diabetes nurse to ask, not the gastroscopy people.

Hi DiabeticDi

Not sure if this is any help. I had cataract surgery under general anaesthetic recently. I have a pump. After discussion with the pump team as I felt my basal was currently running at the correct rate they advised me to leave my basal alone and obviously no bolus. Not sure how the advice would be for those on a basal bolus regime.

I would definitely get advice from the diabetes nurses. My Anaesthetist was happy to accept the Pump Team recommendation

Good luck for tomorrow
