Gestational and blisters!

Folks.

I have GDiabetes and was diagnosed 14 weeks ago. I find it the most complex illness ever!

I'm not overweight, I eat healthily and do moderate exercise. My question is, I went for a walk in rubbish shoes today and now have a few blisters on my toes. Do I need to be worried? I've stupidly googled it and its given me all this scary info! I should've just come straight to u guys!!!

Please help, I hope I'm over reacting but I'm really worried xxx

Dont panic, make sure your bg is well controlled, and get a packet of compeed blister plasters, these protect the blisters until they have healed. Mention the blisters to your doctor at your next apointment.
If at any stage you think that the blisters are not healing or become infected see your doctor asap, but if you have no neuropathy and your bg levels are good you will be healing ok and all will be well.
And throw out the dodgy footwear :)

Good luck and a gentle pat for your tummy, hope all goes well for you and yours x x

Shoes have been binned and my three blisters are covered with blister plasters!!

Thank you for the advice on it!!

My tummy has been nicely patted and she sends a big hello!!

Thank you so much for putting my mind at rest :) xxx

I rang a chiropodist today who told me to bathe my feet in salt water, apply savlon and add a clean, dry dressing.

Since I was diagnosed I was advised to check my bloods 4x a day and its unusual for it to be over 8.8 at the absolute highest (usually sits between 4.4 & 7.9). So hopefully ill be okay.

Will speak to my diabetes nurse on Monday and see wha she recommends

:) thank u for your response xxx
