Hi all, i am just after some advice, 2008/09 i had gestational diabetes which went when my son was born. I have recently has a fasting blood test which came back as 6.9 and the doc wants me to repeat the test(tomorrow). Just wanting some advice on the result i had, is it high etc.. i am overweight, high blood pressure, tablet controlled, and my maternal nan had type 2. How at risk am i. .. Any advice would be very helpful.. Thank Lisa

Your recent fasting blood glucose result of 6.9 is at the upper end of the scale for pre-diabetes. From 7.0 it is indicative of diabetes. Your gestational diabetes, excess weight and high blood pressure would put you at risk of developing diabetes.
