Long standing type 1 has left me struggling to find work. I was not looking for special treatment but former employer probably broke every rule in book; constantly changing shifts, working seven days sometimes ten and I had 32 hour contract and automatic assumption made that everybody worked these hours and paid less than equivalent staff. Needless to say control became difficult and many not so serious but some more so hypos later I am unemployed. Looking for portering work in Hampshire, England Yateley, Camberley area if anybody willing to train. I was previously chef but as mentioned above not possible any longer and this was with one of biggest contract caterers! Makes me sound like a pathetic case I know but I have good sense of humour and after 35 years with diabetesI now feel that next 35 will not be as hard.

I can't help you find work superhooper but good luck with your search. I do wonder though why you think it's not possible for you to be a chef any more?
