Getting a grip again

Hi
This past year and three months have been tough which really shows in my blood sugars, I have been type 2 diabetic for 8 years with good control in diet however, my past three test have been 56, 54 and, 56 so, doctors want me on medication which I would rather not do especially as the past year was truly stressful and I am sure that is why numbers are up, Brief summary, 4 surgeries in 10 weeks, 8 lots of sepsis, a miriad of antibiotics *literally lived on them* plus 10 CT scans, 9 with contrast dye (10th they couldnt get a cannula to stay in place as well as many midlines, acute care at home for IV antibiotics for 28 days then 30 days just to keep me home and of course 26 weeks in hospital with limited food and, movement due to covid (hospital preferred us not to wander around too much - wasnt fit in the beginning but, boy oh boy can I feel the impact) and isolation at times. Hardly surprising numbers are up yet, I need to get a grip and get them down. Thanks for listen x

But apart from that, how have you been?

lol just playing, dayum you’ve been through it, glad you are here to tell the tale, one foot in front of the other, we can’t shine our brightest until we are in our darkest place.

Hi
thank you, yes its been tough but, I am out the other side and starting open university October plus a hospital program for three weeks end of November to fit in and, need to get my food sorted, take out the extras, take out foods that dont agree with me (tend to hit those when stress) and, learn to value myself enough to hydrate and nourish my body as it deserves. Got to create a food list over weekend, shop online Monday for the grocery delivery Tuesday. It Is Time to Change

That sounds like a great plan and great attitude :) you are already awesome, what a great starting point.

Well . . . look at you all busy during Lockdown while the rest of us suckers were stuck at home.

26 weeks in hospital with limited food and, movement due to covid

You spent half a year living off hospital food unable to exercise.
I'm surprised your A1c wasn't in the 100s.
You know what to do, you've got this

All those antibiotics will have killed off your good gut bacteria too, so make sure to include lots of fermented foods and/or vinegar if you can .
And the odd longer fast.
Can't remember where I learned all this but it's always my go to after antibiotics
