When people who know nothing about the LCHF diet tell me I'm killing myself being on it. I was killing myself not being on it!
Hi everyone!
I'm getting back on track with my testing and exercise now. Both went out of the window, as the saying goes, as I was too sore and tired to record anything. After my bad trip over the wall I returned to work last week. To say that I was sore after the first day back was an understatement, but after exactly 4 wks off work I thought it was time to go back. I was very tired and my back, hip and left leg ached, no not ached, hurt. But I was only at work for 1 day and I was onto my 2 days off, so that let me rest a bit. Back to work for 3 shifts (Fri to Sun), then off for 3 shifts from tomorrow. My sugar levels have been higher, I have been eating my LCHF diet, but without the exercise, as even a short walk to the shop hurt and I would have to sit down. Saying high, the levels were in the 8's so I suppose they could have been much worse. Although yesterday at work I had a slice of fruit cake and a thin shortbread biscuit, I've not had anything like that for months and months and spiked at 13.5 BAD! So now it's turning my back on the cake and biscuits. I never eat any of the biscuits my husband buys: chocolate digestives, kit-kat 2 finger bars, twix or penguin, though I do sniff them when my grandchildren have one!!! At 8.30 this morning I was an 8 when I tested. My weight has stayed static though, so that is something. I'm going to try back to Zumba this week, that will be the real test.
I also had a pear yesterday, so that wouldn't have helped my carb count (about 15 ish), but it tasted so good! I'm never sure what fruit I can eat. Any advice there please.
Now off to eat my baked chicken breast, spiralised stir fried courgette and carrot, roasted veg ( broccoli and asparagus) and a large portion of spinach. Then off to work :(
