Been absent and fell off the wagon for a year, determined to get back on track. So best start posting again.

HbA1c of 82 has shocked me back into action, far above my best of 48.

Time for a bit of effort on a low carb diet, I managed to lose 3 stone previously by restricting carbs to 100g and calories to 2000.

I did it before I can do it again.

Thank you :)

Plan is to get down from 19st (120.6kg) to 14st (88kg) in 1 year, about 600g a week.

Before I let myself go again I got down to 16st in 6 months with a 2000 cal / 100g Carb max a day diet. So I know I can do it.

you can surely do that if you go really low carb, and maybe even faster ... stay in here , it is a great place for support

and lots of friends in the same boat

First couple of days done, and craving Carbs. Pushing through it.

Aiming for 50g to 100g of carbs, (RDA is around 260 to 300)

Personally I would cut carbs more to 20-30g per day from dairy and greens only. Seems to make the carb cravings less.
I think that more than that can exacerbate the cravings making the whole process much harder.
