Hi all,

Hoping for some advice, about 6 weeks ago I was told I needed to make some drastic lifestyle changes following years of neglect to my diabetes,

I have got my diet under control which has improved my sugars no end and am testing regularly. Have the odd hypo, spike etc but nothing like what I have been. I believe my hb1c was around 10/11when I made these changes.

Here is the thing, I feel awful... after an initial boom of feeling energized I am now have headaches, tiredness ,aches in legs and sometimes kidneys and neck?! cramps and bizarrely seem to be thirsty all the time (even though bloods ok) I know full well that this obviously better than running high bloods constantly and have no inclination to go back to old habits but has anyone else gone through this? I have read it can be similar to withdrawal symptoms? Any help or experience would be wonderful.

Thanks all

Mike

Hi, Good to year you are doing what you can to gain better control. If you did have poor control for a while it could be your body adjusting to the lower levels. If it persists speak to your dsn but in the long run with good control things should improve for you.
