Hey, the last time i wrote on here i was trying to stay positive and lose weight. Ive lost a stone so far just with healthy eating and exercise, and now i am getting positive i really want to get involved. Any Ideas? I want to go abroad and help diabetics less fortunate than ourselves. Im aware it will cost a lot of money but i want to save up and i also think it will give me a goal to get my diabetes truley sorted. Ive tried searching but its not helping, dont think im that awesome on the internet ha! i really want to help make a difference, and just wandered if anyone knows of how to go about this? ive already volunteered for weekends in the uk which were a great success and now weeks, but im looking further a field...

Dislikes
soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
How about contacting the American diabetic Association!
They may run camps for kids like DUK do and there wouldn't be too much of a language barrier.
Another organisation you might contact would be OXfam, or Cafod or Medecins Sans Frontieres. all work in disaster areas and may use personnel who are not medically qualified. Ask DUK, they might have ideas. There are some things they do well

I keep noticing that people say how useless DUK is, just wandering how is it? im not defending it, ive just never encountered any problems with it, and as sue says knowledge is the key...yes ive been roaming trying to cheer myself up lol
