Getting more and more ill

I have had diabetes for 20 years and its been tough, I really don't understand how everyone does it with all these straight lines of blood readings. I am a fitness instructor whose main carbs come from fruit, not a big pasta rice nor bread eater at all!
Anyway I am currently working abroad and it's my last five weeks yet I feel my body is just giving up now. I picked a spot on my chin and it got itself infected and spread - I got some cream and its heaps better now. I got in my finger what I thought was a splinter so tried to push it out and it didn't work that it got infected and is now swollen and terrible. I have also been having toilet trouble, waking up in the night to excrete unsolid produce which is very unlike me as i have always been regular good bowel movements. Finally my throat is now getting more and more sore everyday to the point where I am awake now crying my eyes out as I'm so exhausted and know I have to teach tai chi, zumba, aqua, Pilate's and yoga tomorrow in a body that I'm sure is giving up.
I don't know what to do...
 
You need to see a doctor and probably need antibiotics. Multiple infections is not something to play around with or wait to treat.
 
Yes, please see a doctor as soon as you can. I can't really say what you may or may not have as I'm sure I'd be wrong there. But I can say I know what a sore throat is like as I live with reflux laryngitis and muscle tension dysphonia. I haven't had a pain free throat since before 2012. I'm wondering if eating the fruit you eat is causing acid reflux for you? A lot of fruit is acidic and I have to avoid eating a lot of it now because of other diseases. That's a possibility..,. but only a doc can advise for you of course. It could just be a throat infection as well along with the other possible infections you have. I also have IBS so I know how distressing it is for bowel to misbehave. I wish you the best and hope you get to feeling better soon.

I'm in turkey and have been to see them already about an infected finger and cuts on face. I will go as soon as I can. I hate been a fuss but I will go. Thank you everyone

Don't worry about being a fuss... your health is too important. If you leave infections untreated it leads to sepsis which is very dangerous. I hope they put you on the right treatment to get better.
 
I have antibiotics and spray for my throat then some sort of probiotics and antiseptic drug for my intestine.
He did say that he keeps seeing me too often now... Hopefully things will get better
 
I am glad you went. Did he address at all why this is happening to you? I hope you feel better very soon.

Ignore comments like this, the important thing is that you are being treated, make a nuisance of yourself, as said above infections can lead to serious complications so put yourself first

Just out of interest how are your BG levels ?
 
Throughout the summer this is the best control I've ever had on them. I tend to spike before bed though for it to fall in the night. Fair few hypos on days with the amount of classes I teach a day. I'm hoping for a pump when I'm home
 
A pump would make a great difference on your management, particularly with the amount of exercise you are doing as you can fine tune your settings for different events. I wanted to see how your BG levels were coping with your infections as the normal response is elevated levels with infection present. Hopefully you can start to feel alot better soon, take care Emily.

In all honesty I don't really ever get ill. I don't remember the last time I called in sick to work at all. Always felt very lucky which is why I'm so concerned now as everything has just hit me. I spent most of my morning with low bloods trying to combat classes and not overeating for the blood but rest of day was OK until night time. This is when my blood spikes and drops, however have woken to an 11.2
Medication will be taken today so should start feeling better. Thank you everyone
 

Yeh unfortunately any infection in the body messes with your sugar levels. That's been part of my problem... pain and illnesses impacting on my sugar levels. It's hard to control when you can't make sense of the food you've eaten and insulin you've taken.... things don't match what you're expecting. It's usually another culprit at play.
 
I agree that you should see a doctor as well.

I would also point out that some of those issues may be caused by multiple problems, not just one thing (ie - diabetes).

Stress would certainly cause toilet issues. Stress would also cause or not help higher blood sugars, weakness, sleeplessness etc....

High blood sugars (anything outside of the non-diabetic range) impairs your bodies ability to heal, and fight infection. Which in turn raises blood sugars, which in turn makes the problem worse - this circle continues until you can fix it.

I would make an appointment with your doctor asap, and take some time off work to just relax and regroup - you very well may just be exhausted and its at the point that your now seeing signs.

With the spikes and lows what types of insulin are you on? I was very active when I worked and my levels would constantly go low while working. I had to lower my long term insulin. In evening when I was no longer active my levels would go up do to no longer being active.
