Giving your beta cells a rest

Hi

I can see the logic of low carb rather than medicine to try and control BS to give beta cells a rest (for T2), however, I am wondering if there is any research to back up the positive concept of giving the beta cells a rest or equally as valid, the negative impact on beta cells when overworked.

Many thanks

B

I would be interested in seeing such research too.........

I just assumed that eating lots of carbs that are processed really quick would tire out your beta cells, eventually............

although I do believe there is a genetic influence as well.................hence why you cant say someone 'got' diabetes because they were obese......

I must have realised that they could be overworked, hence I;m adopting a diabetic eating plan to make things a little easier on them and on my pancreas. Will be watching for more info.
