Being type 1, my health and what really grates me are false people who make themselves out to be something when their not
DONT be fooled by my heading, I've got my fair share of Diab' complications and other illnesses, but after wAtching Stand Up To Cancer on channel 4 last night and again see what this ruthless illness does to any age, sex or religion of people it makes my problems seem well within my capabilities of coping and managing with I lost my father-in-law to the big C in March after a very short illness and last night I watched my kids and lovely wife crumble whilst watching this program. So let's not only make next Month Movember lets all try and make a concerted effort to manage our Diab' better just for our own well being

Sorry but had to get that off my chest

Well said and sorry for your loss.

Cancer is horrible and cuts lives short, I've lost both my father and father-in-law to cancer and it hurts like hell, the sooner that there's a cure found the better, but with so many different types of cancer I would imagine this will be difficult to achieve, but we can live in hope.............

That's all we can do at present

Sorry for your loss.
I've lost my Aunt and one of my Uncles to the Big C. Also my ex father-in-law and my father-in-law (within 2 months of each other). It's an awful disease.

I agree with you hole heartedly and I'm sorry or your losses, it does put our problems into perspective (well it does for me)

My Mum had Diabetes and then passed away from cancer so I am really angry with cancer and now I've got diabetes and it is hard as I'm quite scared.

Diabetes is a walk in the park compared to the health issues I have had over the past couple of years.
Cancer is a horrible horrible disease. My mother, aunt, grandmother, 2 uncles and 2 cousins have died from one type of cancer, my brother is a survivor of another type. I think in the future cancer will be an older person disease, a bit like lifestyle heart disease.
I think once we are aware of complications and things not right with our bodies we should try to get the medical care needed, be persistent get things checked out, the sooner these things are found the better chance we have of over coming them or at least treating them to slow damage.
This YOLO is true so try to be the best version of yourself you can be.
