Hi all. As a new member, I was Really grateful for advice and empathy over my BG testing errors a few weeks back. Delighted to report entering 2018 with much improved results. Gliclazide seems to be working and I’ve gone from high twenties to single figures mostly. But I mainly want to share the benefits of the food diary my doc insisted on to go alongside the daily tests. I’ve done this before for Weightwatchers and failed miserably but when your life depends on it you make more effort don’t you? Anyway, when the reading is higher I’ve been able to see why each time and, folks, it really works! Without paying a penny to Weightwatchers or Slimming World (dread to think of the money I’ve wasted with them in the past!) I have gently reshaped my general diet, cut back drastically on the wine, and taken off 12lbs to date in the process! Whoopee! Still got two stones to remove but it’s a work in progress. Have also started Tai Chi, which helps the mood along. Have to go the Diabetic Clinic on 30th Jan and am actually looking forward to it. Still miss my baked spuds though ..... Thanks forum, for you help along the way. Les.

It’s great isn’t it this low carbing!
Well done on your achievements so far!

Great to read your brilliant results, @lesfb74, and also great that you have done it without paying a penny to WW and SW!

Great news, and very well done.

I couldn't agree more about the food diary. I still keep one four years down the line, albeit not very detailed these days!
